BriSCA F1 Stock Car Racing

258 Rob Harrad at Coventry in '97
Darrell Collins passes on some very interesting news on what happened to this car, what happened after it, and the future plans...

"...the car took about 18 months / 2 years to build and was first raced in 1991 at Northampton, we then used the car on and off until about 1997, along the way it had several bouts of major surgery (including 1 or 2 wheel base changes) usually following a visit to the fence! Time was eventually called on the chassis after a full throttle meeting with a back straight fence post at Coventry, the running gear (350 chevy / zf gear box) was removed and put into storage until we acquired a very early Clive lintern chassis from Jim Potter which required a new roll cage prior to installation of the engine, this car (with a Doug Cronshaw look alike body) was raced for a couple of seasons until a race stopping incident at a European meet at Northampton when enough damage was done for us to call it a day, while Rob got under way with a long awaited project to construct a self build house (no doubt a much safer investment than stock cars!) , the house and garage are now complete and Rob has bought a very early FWJ car that amongst other things requires a new roll cage (seem to have been here before!) it will take some time but we do intend to return to the raceways for the odd meeting, the main aim being to have a little fun along the way."
